Great Anime Music!

Post by BlurredExistence on Mon Mar 25, 2013 12:41 am

I am currently working on (well i say "working", i actually mean "prating about with") creating a playlist on YouTube filled with all the great music associated with anime, be it something from an opening or ending, a piece of background music or something stuck on the soundtrack that doesn't even appear in the anime in question.

The problem is that due to the fact that i'm doing this on my own it is, currently, based upon my tastes and what i've encountered so far alone and that's not really what i'm after. So i thought i'd open it up to you brilliant boys and girls so you can help me (out of the kindness of your own hearts) to construct something fantastic! All you need to do is give me suggestions to anything you enjoy and feel should be on the playlist.

I would appreciate it if any suggestions are provided with the anime's title, the artist's name and the music's title. If you do not have all of this information do not worry i will hunt stuff down based upon as little information as "it's the background music from such and such a scene in episode blah blah in whatever anime", i just ask that you don't try to make my life too hard. Wink BTW: Any music that doesn't have a vid on YouTube will not be forgotten i will keep them on a separate list so i can continue to keep my eye out for them until i find them, so don't hold back on stuff just because you can't find it.

I really like the Puella Magi Madoka Magica opening, the Steins;Gate opening, the first and third opening and closing themes of Fairy Tail, the first Mirai Nikki opening, Bouken Desho Desho (Melancholy opening 1), Hare Hare Yukai (Melancholy closing 1), and God Knows (from the Live Alive episode of Melancholy). ^_^

Needs Star Driver insert songs. Other than that, a fine list.

Could you be more specific. I think i've managed to track them down but without a better understanding what you mean i could be adding the wrong stuff, so i'm putting them on hold for now.

He probably means songs like this:

Spoiler:

There are 4 songs, and each song has an original version and then a "~version de l'apprivoiser" that's actually used in the anime and more orchestra. The songs are "Monochrome", "Innocent Blue", "Akiiro no Aria", and "Komorebi no Contact".

I think you should separate songs like OPs, EDs, and insert songs from instrumental background musics. It'll be easier to see what kind of music you're looking for.

BlurredExistence wrote:Aya Hirano - Bouken de-show de-show?

This is spelled "Bouken Desho Desho?".

Here are some of my contributions. Here are some instrumentals, all from the artist Hiroyuki Sawano. He also did the Guilty Crown soundtrack (though the OPs and EDs were done by supercell).

Spoiler:
Gundam Unicorn OVA: Unicorn

Sengoku Basara Two: BLAZE [ZERO-TWO Ver.]

Sengoku Basara Two: Heaven's Door [ZERO-TWO Ver.] (it starts off slow)

Blue Exorcist: Exorcist Concerto Third Movement : U & Cloud

God I just have too many to list easily, really. I'll list some good ones as I come across them and organize them according to how they sound.

Slow (kinda):
Spoiler:
sola: Ceui - Mellow Melody (ED)

White Album: Nana Mizuki - Shin'ai

Gundam SEED: FrictionJunction Yuuka - Akatsuki no Kuruma

Anohana: Various - Secret Base (10 Years After Ver.)

Kanon: Pure Snows (Re-Feel album ver.)

Rock:
Spoiler:
Gurren Lagann: Shouko Nakagawa - Sorairo Days

Gurren Lagann: Shouko Nakagawa - Happily Ever After

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2: Aya Hirano - Super Driver

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2: Various - Tomare!

Ga-Rei Zero: Minori Chihara - Paradise Lost

K-ON!! (season 2): Yoko Hikasa - Girls in Wonderland (part of the NO, THANK YOU single)

Macross Frontier: May'n and Megumi Nakajima - Lion

Sword Art Online: LiSA - crossing field

Moe/Idol/Group/etc.:
Spoiler:
Macross Frontier: Megumi Nakajima - Seikan Hikou

Toradora!: Various - Orange

The World God Only Knows S2: Various - Ai no Yokan

IDOLM@STER: Miki Hoshi (don't know voice actor's name) - Heart of the Marionette

IDOLM@STER: Various - Jibun REST@RT

IDOLM@STER: Various - Promise (M@STER Version)

... I should probably stop now.

I love a lot of the stuff composed by Kenji Kawai, particularly the works he did for Fate/stay night and Gundam 00. He can do really intense action tracks but also really sentimental ones for more emotional moments.

This is mine, feel free to take some.
Also, some of them are from games and visual novels, so you decide.

I totally didn't know what i'd let myself in for by starting this thread, this is gonna take me AGES! lol Still... keep em coming.

Valvatorez wrote:

Well... that's a toughy, i know i've added one from Katawa Shoujo, and one of the Kanon tracks is more related to the game than the anime, so i reckon other VNs would be alright.

Sir Maddy wrote:Wait back the fuck up.

I think it's a pretty good tune, don't you? And as for Saki's i know they're silly but they're bouncy and catchy so why not?

BK-201 wrote:

Umm, when it came to doing K-On (as with Angel Beats!'s GirlDeMo stuff) i limited myself to adding those tunes i thought were most iconic. This is due to the fact that you could end up just adding loads and loads HTT songs and take up a huge section of the playlist. I don't mind adding more of their stuff but i don't want it to turn into a playlist that is dominated by it, if you get me, so before i will add any others i would like other people to sort of vote on their addition (either by suggesting them again or saying 1 up for whatever song). Sorry to make things difficult.

Also, by game music, I meant stuff like BlazBlue as well, and Disgaea, and The Guided Fate Paradox.

No i don't think they'd be appropriate to this playlist unless they have some form of anime connection.

cross referencing this list with my current anime tracks the only two that jump out at me as not being mentioned are Tank! from cowboy bebop and Lilium from elfen lied and if video games ones would ever be added simple and clean and sanctuary from kingdom hearts would be my suggestions

I was going to add more tonight but i got to higurashi_conan's epic contribution and i thought that could definitely wait till tomorrow at least! Especially as it's taken me an hour and a half just to do these 35.

Also while doing this list it kinda hit me that as i don't know a lot of these tunes, i have yet to watch their animes and what-not, i don't really know if i'm adding the right versions or not so i would appreciate if some of you would take the time to check the tunes you know. Also if you notice any other issues pls let me know.

Thanks for your continued efforts here guys i'm truly being overwhelmed by it! Laughing
