Fate/Zero Anime to Get English Dub

Post by Natsu Dragneel on Wed Feb 06, 2013 5:45 pm

Aniplex of America announced on Wednesday that the Fate/Zero television anime series will be getting an English dub and will stream on Viz Media's Neon Alley service on the PlayStation 3 starting this spring. Aniplex of America also announced the English dub cast for the series:

Kari Wahlgren as Saber
Matthew Mercer as Kiritsugu Emiya
Bridget Hoffman as Irisviel von Einzbern
Crispin Freeman as Kirei Kotomine
Patrick Seitz as Assassin
Marc Diraison as Tokiomi Tohsaka
David Earnest as Archer
Doug Erholtz as Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald
Grant George as Lancer
Lucien Dodge as Waver Velvet
Jamieson Price as Rider
Johnny Yong Bosch as Ryunosuke Uryu
Dan Woren as Caster
Liam O'Brien as Kariya Matou
Kyle Hebert as Berserker

Additionally, Tony Oliver will be the show's ADR Director.

Aniplex of America is also streaming a trailer for the English dub.

Aniplex released the series in two subtitle-only Blu-ray Disc box sets in North America last year. Niconico and Crunchyroll both streamed the two seasons of the series as they aired.

Viz Media launched the Neon Alley 24-hour anime service on the PlayStation 3 last year to show anime uncut, dubbed in English, and in HD when available. Viz Media revealed last month that Accel World will also stream on the service. The service currently streams Blue Exorcist, InuYasha: The Final Act, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, Tiger & Bunny, and Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne, along with Death Note, Naruto Shippūden, One Piece, and Vampire Knight.
That's one of the biggest news I've ever seen

I'm happy for this because I was about to just finish it in sub since it looked like it wasn't going to get a dub, but now I can wait for it. My only major gripe is again no Kate Higgins as Saber. Sad

Also I find it curious why Jamieson Price is playing as Rider rather than Kirei Kotominei seeing as he voiced him before? o_0

I still say Michael McConnohie would have made a bawse Rider voice.

however, i hope Kari does a better job of saber than Michelle Ruff did as Saber in the UBW movie. her voice didnt fit AT ALL. she sounded so much like rukia it wasnt funny. rukia has a kind of "im strong but i need help" kind of voice as opposed to Kate Higgins Saber of "powerful strong, i can do this myself" kind of voice

Kari seems to have quite a range of voices so i think she might do well.....i hope

Considering everything else, Fate/Stay Night, Unlimited Blade Works, has a dub it was only a matter of time before Zero received a dub. Guess I was one of the few who wasn't shocked by this.

i have to agree with this, but due to how big-budget the show was, and how insanely popular it was when it came out, i expecting the asking price to be extremely high

Alright this is good news. Even though I wasn't a big fan of this series I'm still glad to have the choice to watch the prequel dubbed now. I'm not sure if I would have been willing to watch it subbed since I was not overly thrilled with the first one. (It was Ok I guess)

from someone who loved the original enough to watch it multipule times and read the entire VN...the prequel was FREAKIN AWSOME it has SOOOOOOOO MUCH more epic combat that the original, and that art has been improved. also, i loved it subbed, so that says something

Spoiler alert ~EKUSU~ KARIBAAAAAAAAAAA~
Spoiler:
Slight fight spoiler
Spoiler:

but there ARE some parts in Fate/zero you wont understand if you didnt read the last part of the VN... and possibly some other things in the other 2 VN routes, as they were much more detailed than the anime and movie were
