I think that guy who was with the black guys group and turned on him in last ep will die. Might have another death in Ricks group aswell and a whole lot of deaths in the governers group of people who we dont know anything about.

I actually felt that episode was a little lackluster.

Spoiler:
It was obvious from the start that Merle was going to die, by the way the episode was focusing on him. I do like the way they explained his character though. Merle said it himself. He doesn't know why he does the things he does. You can see he feels regret for the people he's killed, and I like that they have him die valiantly. That being said, I felt the episode took way to long to get to the ending. I think a lot of the conflict that the group was going through over trading Michonne could have been dealt with in the previous episode if it hadn't focused on that stupid B-movie horror style with Andrea. Now I worry the finally is going to feel rushed. It also highlights one of the potential issues with bringing in new characters that aren't in the comics. Merle couldn't have had any major impact with his attack on Woodbury because it's not written into the comics. It will be interesting to see what impact Daryl has in the next episode.

Who cares about that -_- Your looking way too much into it. Just sit back and enjoy what your getting.

Spoiler:
I think this ep was rly good. Merle deserved a full ep for his death cuz of the way he did it. Drinking booze, listening to Motorhead and annoying the governor. Fucking awesome. I hope in next ep Daryl gets the honour of killing the governor. I felt terrible for him when he saw walker Merle.

A warming episode

Spoiler:
The end was the best it all kind of built up to that end point, its a shame in a way that they just couldn't be bros again. It could have ended differently. I use to think he was just an asshole but he literally sacrificed himself for the others. God damn!

I liked how they built up his disposition on the new world and the things he wished he didn't have to do and how much he regretted everything. Saddest moment on the show, truly touching.

Spoiler:
I find Merle's portrayal slightly unbelievable that at the last second he all of the sudden regrets what he's done. I mean he really seemed to show ZERO remorse throughout the entire rest of the series every time he was doing something incredibly immoral. At the end of the day it's nice that he redeemed itself, though it feels like too little too late so I can't really say I'm gonna miss him. The fact of the matter is, he could have very well got Glenn and Maggie both killed if those two didn't get lucky enough to survive their capture; he also tried to kill Michonne, and let's not forget that Andrea's sister in all likelihood was killed by him leading a pack of zombies to the camp. I feel for Daryl in all this more than anything. All that aside, I thought it was a good episode and I don't have any problems with the pacing this season so far.

Spoiler:
Wasn't he already stuck on the roof before Andrea's sister died?

I think it was more of an inner conflict and this episode gave a little insight on how much hes been contemplating the evil things hes done. He knows hes done shit wrong, and like he told Rick, he doesn't know why he does the things he does. He told Michonne that he had never killed anyone before the apocalypse happened and I honestly think breaking down a bit mentally post apocalypse had something to do with how is was till recent events. I mean, sure him and Daryl planned to betraying the original group and stealing their stuff but he wasn't a killer before all of this. Like he and Michonne both said he does the dirty work other people can't do, his role in this new world was to "clean out the piss buckets." And he just didn't like being that person anymore.

Spoiler:
The episode was kinda building up to that with Michonne asking all those questions and the more he answered the more he realised how wrong he has been i guess. And suddenly when he was driving the car he thought of doing this and released Michonne.

But i do feel the same as Siets. I feel more bad for Daryl than for Merle.

And Merle had already escaped from the rooftop when the zombies attacked the camp in Atlanta. Merle was hooked onto the roof when Rick got saved by Glenn. They then escaped from there and left him there. Shortly after that the zombies broke onto the roof and he escaped. They were still at the camp when Daryl and Rick went searching for him and found only his hand still on the roof. They got back to the camp and a while after that the zombies attacked.

Exactly. So he was being treated for his injuries when Ricks group was swarmed.

I don't know though. Merle doesn't seem like the type to disclose what he's thinking or feeling. I got the impression that he was reevaluating his life for awhile and Michonne asking him all those questions was what finally made him come to his final conclusion.

Spoiler:
Unfortunately this episode was ruined for my by some stupid bitch who decided to post a picture of zombified merle on facebook, so I knew what was going to happen to him a few episodes ago. However, it doesn't change the fact that it was a good episode and merle's death is probably the biggest one for me. Merle was probably my favorite character, followed by Daryl. I'm incredibly annoyed of how pussy-ish the rest of the group is. Andrea should die next. For real. The whole thing could have been ended long ago had Andrea not been such a monumentally stupid and gullible person. I like the Governor better than Andrea. That should say a lot there. At any rate, did anyone else feel that Norman Reedus' acting during the last few moments of that episode was..sub-par? His voice went all squeaky and high-pitched, it seemed out of character for Daryl.

Wow, I would be removing that person from my FB asap. I try to stay away from social media if I miss an episode of something like that. I've had a similar experience with another show I was watching.

Spoiler:
I really like Merle a lot too. Probably second to Daryl. Some people are split in between how they feel about him but I've always liked how his character was portrayed. Ricks group is a bit pussy-ish, Glenn and Magie are too preoccupied with their bullshit to even pay attention to whats going on around them. That episode the other week too, how they snuck off to fuck while they were supposed to be on watch. Carol and Beth are too busy taking care of Rick's kid and Rick is being really indecisive with what he wants to do. "Do we give Michonne away? Nah, I'm feeling conflicted, let's not do it now."

And yeah Norman Reedus' acting was a little less than it should be. But then again I haven't seen him in anything where he acted overly emotional like he was in the last episode.

True, it was irresponsable. But like Glenn said in this weeks ep when he asked Hershel for permission for marry Maggie ''you never know what might happen in this world'' i guess hes like gotta do these things with her now cuz we can die at any time.

And Beth and Carol arent very useful in battle anyway and someone has to take care of the kid. Rick surely has no time for it himself and Lori is dead.

That episode was not as good as it should have been for a season finale. I enjoyed it, but I've come to expect more out of The Walking Dead. Although, something I've been wanting to happen for a long time finally came to fruition.

Spoiler:
Andrea is finally dead. Yes, yes, 1000 times yes!.

And Carl is becoming a thug. He got his first human kill and it didn't even phase him. So I wodner what the governors next move is going to be. Rick took in so many people into the prison. if I recall it was only women and children that were brought in. So there's more mouths to feed and not many more gun hands. Tyreese and that girl are capible but I don't think anyone else really is.

yea it doesnt seem like the group gained much by taking in those refugees besides some good karma for helping the elderly it really just gave more people to feed and more people that may whine, it seems the general idea about Milton was right he didnt last to much longer but he took someone down with him atleast (although probably not the person he wanted)

I think it will help Carl realize that trying to help them was the right choice. But I do agree with the choice Carl made by killing that one kid.

That episode did not go the way I expected.
Spoiler:
Andrea isn't even dead yet in the comics. Tells you how much popularity controls the lives on that shows. Overall, I was pretty disappointed in that episode. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a final. I was expecting this to be the end of the Governor arc and we'd be moving onto the next one. If this means another season before he's dead, I'm not going to be happy.

Re: The Walking Dead Discussion

Post by Bato on Mon Apr 01, 2013 1:55 pm

^I know its april fools day, but whats that about.

About the ep,
Spoiler:
RIP Milton!!!!!!! The most important person who died this ep. Thank god Andrea finally died. I cant care less if shes alive or dead in the comics.

Anyway, i wasnt expecting positive comments on this forum, as i barely seen any positive comment in this thread Rolling Eyes

I think Rick did the right thing. Hes finally regaining his sanity and hes finally back to trying to restore society instead of killing it off completely. I liked 1st season so much because they had believe and hope that there was a cure and an end to this insane world. There should be an end to all the zombies at the end of this show too, so why not try to stay human in the meanwhile? Rick was turning more and more into the governor himself and im glad he took these people in. Like we all know, they werent off well in the governors hands.

It wasnt all women and children, there were also a few man with them, although they were all old.

About Carl, he did the right thing after giving his reason about evryone who was saved came back later to hurt them, but he should not have lied to his dad about the guy pointing his gun at him.

Overall im satisfied with this episode. If they dont wanna give us more yet, theres probably a reason for it. Im exited for season 4 Very Happy

@Yuki,
Spoiler:
If they did kill the governor, someone else like Martinez would take his place. It was pretty much impossible to kill all of the governors army in just 1 ep without losing some of your own people and thats what they try to avoid the most, obviously.

Believe me, there's not much left to the Governor's story. They could have easily wrapped it up in another episode. Now we have to wait 'till October until we get resolution. =_=

Yeah I did a bit of reading and if they would focus on how the story is supposed to progress it could have been done by now.

Also, the graphic novels are pretty brutal. I might try checking out those instead. A lot more crazier shit happened in the comics.

Was good if it were a regular Walking Dead episode, but it was disappointing for a finale episode. I expected an all-out war at the prison; there really wasn't much of a fight. In fact, there was a bigger shootout in one of the earlier episodes. That's kinda sad.

Spoiler:
I'm so so happy that Andrea took a .45 to the face. Fuck that bitch. Seriously. Milton though, I'm sad he died. My two favorite characters are now gone (Merle and Milton) I'm glad Milton showed what kind of person he truly was though. I so wanted him to be a hero, and in a sense, he was. He might not have been successful at killing the governor, but he killed Andrea, so he's a hero in my book. He'll go down in my books as one. The rest of the episode though, was pretty lame. Though I did like the Governor gunning down all of his people. They all kind of deserved to die anyway, if not out of being bad people, then out of sheer stupidity for opposing a man like Philip. At that point, they KNOW who he is, and what he's about. Don't fuck with him. I also understand why he gunned them down, in a situation like that, I might have done the same. As breaking bad said, no more half measures.
