Case: Rosewill thor v2 modified - Black and red version
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-970a-ud3
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE O.C'd to 4.5ghz on water
GPU: EVGA GTX 480
PSU: PC Power & Cooling Silencer MKII 950w (actually peaks at 1080)
SSD: Corsair Force Series 3 60gb (boot/primary programs)
HDD1: WDCaviar blue blah blah blah 250g (everything else)
HDD2: Something something something something blah 200gb (porn - pulled from really old computer)
RAM: 8gb ddr3 G.Skill RipjawsX series @ 1600mhz (dual channel in use)

Windows experience index: 7.1

By the way, to those of you stuck at 5.9, it's because your boot drive is an HDD. No HDD can score higher than 5.9 on the windows experience index, so 5.9 will be your highest score until you switch to an SSD.

What are your temps? Overclock first before buying anything, but if you don't know how to overclock, don't do it. It also shortens your CPU/GPU life.

Step 1: Find out temps at idle and load
Step 2: If temps are low, proceed to overclocking
Step 3: If temps get high, look into watercooling. If temps stay low, don't worry about it.

I'm currently OC'd to 4.5ghz on water (Phenom II x4 965 BE)
Only had to change multiplier and voltage for stable OC. Pretty awesome chip.

well..... i'm getting a new processor when AMD brings out the new core, i plan on getting the low end 8 core, (what ever it will be, probably FX-8620)

anyways currently...
Case: Cooler Master HAF 922
Mobo: Biostar TA990FXE
CPU: AMD FX-4100 Overclocked to 4.4GHz
GPU: XFX Radion HD 6870
RAM: AMD Entertainment edition 1600MHz 8GB (X2 4GB)
Storage: 120GB Samsung 830 boot drive and 2 1TB Seagate Barracudas
cooler : Antec Kuhler H20 620 (water cooler)
fans: Nactua NF-F12's (ugly but amazing)
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 750WATT PSU
Monitor(s): I usually have a 32" 1080p TV as my monitor, and a second 20" LG Flatron W1952TQ. But I occasionally feel like using eyefinity, do i grab the 42" out of the living room and the 32" off my other desk to have fun with,

that should be enough.

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

BTW i use windows 8, and i like it.

(yea that was a bad stand on the left... ignore that stupidity.)

its been said AMD's crossfire and multi monitor is better than
Nvidia... then again things change as time progresses, i have been using AMD since 2007, went from a P III to an athlon X64 2200+ and never went back to intel.

(if intel would put out a good processor within my price range i would go intel. but for now AMD is still the price to performance king.) but not in single threaded apps. (oh well)

im not entirely bias towards one company, it's just that AMD is doing it the way i like it right now.

i too thought the same, but i feel if i had put down a few more dollars, it might have done me better in the long run, i agree that intel is overpriced, but, as far as compatability with games, nvidia seems to be beating ATI, and nvidia works best with intel so...

also, when playing games, now my audio is all crackly, iv maxed out the power i can get from AMD/ATI for now so when my processor becomes obslete along with my GPUs ill be swapping out for a new MB, CPU, and GPU, ill sell you my 6850 & 6870 and my Phenom x6 3.2 when i do so...in like 2 years xD

My build is kind of a badass, for the money. I could overclock it to probably 4.8 or 5 Ghz, but I haven't needed it yet.
My badass case(Mine has a bunch of LEDs in it):

http://f.cl.ly/items/3A2Z1N1323261g2J0X3j/Capture.PNG
I'm using a SSD I took from a laptop for my OS connected to sata II, that's why it's a 6.2.

Toshiba Satellite P875-S7310
CPU: Intel Core i7-3630QM @ 2.4 Ghz (8 Logical Processors)
RAM: 8 GB DDR3-1600 MHz
Disk: 750 GB @ 5400 RPM HDD
Video: Intel HD Graphics 4000
Sound: Harman/Kardon Speakers
OS: Windows 8 64-bit

Windows Index Experience: 5.9

Can't complain considering my old one was a Toshiba Satellite X205-S7483 from the Vista era.
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo T5450 @ 1.667 GHz
RAM: 4 GB DDR2
Disk: 120 GB x2
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT with 256MB VRAM
Sound: Harman/Kardon Speakers w/ Subwoofer
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (Originally Vista Home Premium 32-bit)

Windows Index Experience: 4.4

I wonder if I'm the only one that uses the good laptop brands. HP is the WORST brand of computers you can get. I've had my old Toshiba for 6 years, not 1 single problem until last week with a blue screen. Not bad for a OEM computer.

So much power and ram to waste on Shitel Gfx

I agree on the HP statement, I only bought mine because it was a really good deal. Hp DV6 (For some reason its a Canadian model. I live in Texas. Explain to me how a Canadian laptop ends up in a Texas store)
Ci5 2.5 HT, 6GB, 750GB, BT, Intel WiDi (Which I dont use), software that makes my laptop a wifi hotspot, fingerprint scanner, HP 3D hdd protection (I kinda like that, it halts the disk when the laptop is moved)
all for about 6 bills (its refurb but hey, still a good deal)
Only thing it didnt have was a Bluray player
